Make a Power Point Presentation about this person. 
Sua apresentação deve ser curtinha, com 5 slides apenas. Apesar disso, tente deixar a apresentação bem rica, incluindo informações que justifiquem o porquê desta pessoa ser considerada um 'peacemaker'.

Add pictures to your presentation.  Write about all the good this person helped spread around the world.

Project Time!

How about making AWESOME structures out of recycling material?

Here is the challenge: 

1. You may use recycling materials to build your structure. 
2. It has to have posts in it. It cannot stand flat on the ground.
3. Your structure has to be STRONG and STABLE.
4. It has to hold a little weight for 1 minute (like ten marbles inside/on top of it).
5. It cannot bend or fall.
6. Make a list of the materials used and write a short description to illustrate the process of making the structure in your agenda.

Remember:

* Adults can only help by holding the structure or gathering materials around. (Mom and Dad cannot make the structure to you, ok?

* All projects must be in class by MONDAY - August 14th, 2017.

* Use your Creativity.

* HAVE FUN!

Flower Fun!

Here is our project. Follow these steps:

                                                                 

Part 1: STUDY a LITTLE MORE

 1- Go to Studyjams science.

2- Click on Plants!

3- Watch the video about FLOWERS and PLANT ADAPTATIONS

4- Take the Quiz.

Parts 2: RESEARCH and POSTER CREATION

Now that you know more about plants and the way some Angiosperm Flowers reproduce and spread around, search the internet for a special Angiosperm Flower (e.g.: ORCHIDS).

Research about your flowering plant. Include the following details in your information page.

      1-  Include a picture of your flower.

      2- Describe your flower: say its name, its color and  family.

      3- Say the reason you chose this flower.

      4- Write about the place in the world where this flower can be found. (e.g.: South America)/     where was it orinaly from? Does it have ancestors?)

      5- Draw/ glue a map to indicate where your flower lives.

      6- Search and write about any MEDICINAL uses for your flower.

      7- How did it spread (reproduce) along the years. (Flower's evolution through time)

     

Do your best and make a beautiful, instructional research and bring all information gathered to class. We'll prepare our posters in class next MONDAY (June 13th., 2017.)

Peace in Pieces

Hi everyone, 

The world is a mix of sounds, colors and people. 

E assim também é a nossa visão de paz.

Every day, we face different emotions that change our view of the world around us.

Desejar e transmitir a paz é como construir uma colcha de retalhos. Parte por parte, ela se faz, forte e resistente para confortar quem dela necessita.

So... It's time to reflect and ACT!


A tarefa de hoje é construir o PEACE QUILT:

1- Watch the video: Peaceful Pieces 

2- Make a square out of an A4 paper. (This will be your peace quilt square!)

3- Interview someone important to you. Write your answers on a separate sheet of paper. (you may use the left over part of your A4 square, as we saw in class, ok?)

*What color is peace to you?

*What does peace look like?

*Describe a time when you experienced peace. Where were you? What were you doing? 

4- Together prepare your Quilt piece square.

5- Bring your answers and your quilt piece to school on Monday.

6- All the squares will be put together next week! We'll have our own PEACE QUILT!

Hey Boys and Girls,

It's time to start PYP Sharing the Planet. This is a quick,but very important unit to our class.

Our central idea is: 
             Living together peacefully requires effective ways of solving conflict.

Assim, a tarefa de hoje é pesquisar sobre conflito e paz no mundo. Conversem com sua família e amigos sobre o tema procurando investigar o que eles pensam sobre o tema. Reflitam sobre soluções possíveis para que tenhamos paz em nossas vidas, diariamente.

Make a poster (A3 sized) about the topic. 

Make it with your family.

Your poster should reflect the need for peace in today's world.

And remember: 'We are not looking for conflicts! We are searching for solutions!'
