Peace in Pieces

Hi everyone, 

The world is a mix of sounds, colors and people. 

E assim também é a nossa visão de paz.

Every day, we face different emotions that change our view of the world around us.

Desejar e transmitir a paz é como construir uma colcha de retalhos. Parte por parte, ela se faz, forte e resistente para confortar quem dela necessita.

So... It's time to reflect and ACT!


A tarefa de hoje é construir o PEACE QUILT:

1- Watch the video: Peaceful Pieces 

2- Make a square out of an A4 paper. (This will be your peace quilt square!)

3- Interview someone important to you. Write your answers on a separate sheet of paper. (you may use the left over part of your A4 square, as we saw in class, ok?)

*What color is peace to you?

*What does peace look like?

*Describe a time when you experienced peace. Where were you? What were you doing? 

4- Together prepare your Quilt piece square.

5- Bring your answers and your quilt piece to school on Monday.

6- All the squares will be put together next week! We'll have our own PEACE QUILT!

A Special Visit ...

Hey Year 3, 

Our last PYP unit ("How we express ourselves") was really full of surprises! 
We built our own structures, experimented with different materials in class, read a lot about engineering and design and had a chance to feel like architects when drawing our own blueprints.

But one of our favorite moments was the lesson taught by architect and engineer SOCORRO VILELA, who shared with us all her expertise in these so, very important work areas.

Socorro nos mostrou tudo que envolve o desenvolvimento de um projeto de engenharia. Desde a contratação do projeto, a construção de uma edificação, até a necessidade do pensamento "VERDE" na área de construção atualemente.

As crianças ficaram tão interessadas na aula da 'Ms. Socorro' que um dia não foi o suficiente para dar conta de tanto entusiasmo e tantas perguntas. Esta aula vai ficar na memória do Year3 para sempre! 

We would like to thank Socorro Vilela immensely for her kindness, care and patience with all of us in Year 3. 
We loved having you in class!

Dear Year 3 Dads,

We hope you all had a great time at our PHOTO SHOOT last Friday.

We can say we loved every smile, every pose and all the happy faces we saw. 

May life bless all our families and may father's day, this SUNDAY (08/09/15), be more than special to all of you. 

We thank you for your support and for turning this little moment into something special to the Year 3 kiddos.
