We are the Planets!
How about learning more about the planets of the Solar System?
Check out this incredible song by our friends the STORYBOTS.
After listening to the song, don't forget to fill in your CROSSWORD hunt page about the SOLAR SYSTEM.
Have Fun!
Love,
Ms Taty

Planet's Research
Hi everyone,
Here are the guidelines and information about our next project.
READY... SET... BLAST OFF!
This is a big project. You will work both at home and in the school. You will be working individually and in groups.
First things first...
First things first...
1- You'll take home today (Friday - October 07th., 2016) an inquiry worksheet.
2- You'll choose a planet of the Solar System to research about.
3- You'll fill out your inquiry form using as much information as possible about the planet you chose.
4- Please bring your inquiry page back to class next Monday (Oct. 10th., 2016).
Next steps...
Later, in class, we'll be sharing our findings in small groups.
Finally, each group will prepare posters about one of the eight planets to present to our friends.

The Vast Universe...
Hey kids,
Here is a video that may help you find more specific answers to some of your previous questions.
Pay close attention to it and learn more details about the beginning of the UNIVERSE.

Use the 'comments' to write little notes of interesting facts you have learned this time or just keep posting more questions here in the blog.

The start of it all...
Hey kiddos,
Our new PYP unit - 'How the world works'- is an inquiry about the universe, planets, starts and much more.
So... let's start it by discovering a little more about our UNIVERSE!
.... How was it made? What is it made of? Where are we, really?
Check out the video below and leave a comment here telling us what you have discovered about this vast place called Universe.
You may also post questions you might already have about our next PYP unit topic!

So... want to become a universe expert? Start now!
Enjoy!

Dear students...
Have you ever thought about Earth's water?
Were did it come from?
Think a little about it and then watch the video.
Do you agree with the video's idea? Or... have you got a better one?
Share your ideas here on the blog. Post a comment (In ENGLISH and PORTUGUESE)
(Partilhe suas ideias sobre a existência da água em nosso planeta e poste suas justificativas aqui no blog. Use o vídeo como referencia. Pesquise mais ou converse com seus familiares sobre o tópico antes de postar seu comentário!)

Espaço Ciência
Our field trip to "Espaço Ciência" was wonderful!
Children learned a lot more about the Universe, planets, stars and constellations inside the observatory.
They also had the opportunity to take a closer look at the VLS ("Veículo de Lançamento de Satélites") and space rockets during the workshop about ROCKETS. Children used PET bottles, air, water and their own strength to make their play rockets fly through the air. Two teams won first prize!
We are pretty sure this was one of the best classes of the semester!
Enjoy the pictures...
Hugs,
Ms Taty
