Could we live on the Moon?

Hey Year 3,

Our inquiry is almost complete, but we still have questions to answer.

As you said in class, the Earth's moon is unique. Men have already visted it, but no one has ever found a way to live there. What do you think about that?

1- Watch the videos about the moon: (veja os vídeos sobre a Lua)

2- Consider these provocations: (considere estas questões)

* Is the moon ready for human life?

* Could we ever live there? 

* What changes we would have to make to live on the Moon?

3- Talk further to friends and family members about Men's visit to the moon and the possibility of living there. (Converse com amigos e familiares sobre a ida do homem a Lua e a possibilidade de vivermos lá em algum momento.)

4- Bring your answers to class on Monday (December 1st., 2014).

You may bring written answers, oral information, posters, interviews, newspaper articles or cartoons.

(Podem trazer as respostas em forma de texto, posteres, entrevistas, relatos orais, artigos de jornal e revista, historias em quadrinho, etc.)

How the World Works

Gostaríamos de agradecer ao auxílio que todas as famílias do Year 3 vem dando as crianças em mais uma unidade transdisciplinar. 

O processo de pesquisa está cada vez mais intenso, assim como a curiosidade das crianças em relação a unidade transdisciplinar (How the World Works) e a ideia central que estamos discutindo ("Our home planet is part of a vast and unique Universe"). 

Hoje nossos pequenos INQUIRERS começaram a organizar sua pesquisa em apresentações de Power Point para partilhar com todos os seus achados.

Semana que vem estarão visitando as turmas de Intermediate para contar tudinho o que aprenderam para os pequenos. Estão todos muito felizes com as atividades que eles mesmos têm preparado para a visita.

Parabéns as crianças e as famílias. 

Continuem incentivando, participando, enviando jornais, revistas e livros, como vem fazendo. Pesquisar faz bem, expande horizontes e desenvolve múltiplas habilidades. Pesquisar em conjunto amplia a socialização, a oralidade, a curiosidade e reforça o laço escola-família.

Life in and outside Earth 

Dear inquirers,

Now that you have learned a lot about the Universe and it's features, it is time to investigate possibilities of life outside Earth.

Consider these provocations:

* Why is life possible on Earth?

* What makes us special in the Universe?

* Under which conditions could humans/ animals/ plants live in other planets?

Go on a web hunt to answer these or any other questions you may have about the matter. (Use the sites we posted previously on the blog. Or try THIS new one or try this Video)

Bring your findings to school tomorrow (11/27/2014)

(Make a poster if possible/ use pictures/ drawings/ videos to illustrate your thoughts).

Planet's Project

Guidelines and Information:

This is a big project. You will work both at home and in the school. You will be working in groups.

Your group will be researching details of an assigned planet and compiling the information as a Written Booklet, PowerPoint or Prezi Presentation. 

Each group will then present the most important details about the assigned planet to the class. 

As a class, everyone will be compiling the details of each planet and then performing comparitive analysis of the planets in our solar system.

Project Sequence

• Research - Planet Data Collection Worksheet
• Complete it in parts, bring information to class as requested.Check the blog daily for further information.

• Planet Research in a Written Booklet, PowerPoint or Prezi Presentation -
• Presentations will be starting on Nov.25th,2014 (next Tuesday)

O nosso espetáculo: "O CIRCO" está chegando! As crianças estão bem entusiasmadas com os ensaios e entre piruetas e personagens estão dando um show!
